2. What information do we collect?
When you contact us or submit a reservation enquiry, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, expedition preferences, number of travellers, and the information you include in your message.
We may also process communications you send to us by email or WhatsApp and information necessary to arrange a booking.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. Your browser also stores a small preference record on your device so that the subscription form is not shown repeatedly.
3. Why do we process your information?
We use your information to respond to enquiries, provide expedition details, prepare travel proposals, manage reservation requests, and communicate about potential or confirmed bookings.
Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations, or legitimate interests where applicable.
Optional advertising and analytics technologies are used only where the required consent has been obtained.
4. Who may receive your information?
We use third-party service providers to operate our website, manage communications and provide travel services. These providers may process personal data where necessary for their respective functions.
Google provides the Gmail email service used to receive and manage contact and reservation enquiries. Our website hosting provider may also process technical information necessary to operate the website.
Newsletter subscriber email addresses are stored with Resend, the email service provider we use to manage our mailing list.
If you proceed with a booking, relevant personal information may be shared with accommodation providers, transport operators, local guides and other travel partners where necessary to arrange your expedition.
Where you consent to Marketing cookies, Meta Platforms may receive information collected through Meta Pixel, as described in Section 8.
We assess applicable data protection requirements when working with service providers and travel partners.
5. International data transfers
Some of our technology providers, including Google and Meta, may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where international transfers occur, we assess the applicable legal requirements and the transfer mechanisms provided by the relevant service providers, such as adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards, where applicable.
For expeditions outside the EEA, relevant personal information may also need to be shared with local travel partners to arrange the services you request. The applicable transfer arrangements depend on the destination and the services involved.
You can contact us using the details in Section 1 to request further information about international transfers and applicable safeguards.
6. How long do we keep your data?
Contact enquiries and reservation enquiries that do not result in a confirmed booking are retained for up to 12 months after our last communication with you, unless a longer period is necessary for a specific lawful purpose.
For confirmed bookings, we retain the personal data necessary to provide our services, comply with applicable tax, accounting and legal obligations, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Information relating to advertising technologies is also subject to the retention practices described in our Cookie Policy and those of the relevant technology providers.
7. Your data protection rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to certain processing.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
To exercise your rights, contact dauntless.travelauthentic@gmail.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) at www.aepd.es.
8. Cookies and advertising
With your consent, DAUNTLESS TRAVELS uses Meta Pixel to measure website visits, expedition page views, and successful contact or reservation enquiries. This helps us evaluate the effectiveness of our advertising activities.
Meta Pixel may process information such as pages visited, browser and device characteristics, IP addresses, and online identifiers. This information may be shared with Meta Platforms and processed outside the European Economic Area.
Meta Pixel is activated only when you accept Marketing cookies. You can reject or withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookie settings button on our website.
We do not currently use a separate website analytics service, such as Google Analytics.
For details about the cookies used and how to manage your preferences, please read our Cookie Policy.
